Summer Vision Board Ideas

Summer Vision Board Blogpost Art

Use these summer vision board ideas to create some fresh energy during the season. I invite you to dream boldly, reset your intentions, and create. Do you want to revisit your New Year vision board or creating something completely new? Take advantage of manifesting during the summer while you add more meaning and creativity during the summer’s “slow vision board making” pace.

I know from firsthand experience the importance of making a vision board “off-season” (not always around the New Year).  Also summer is a great time to turn a birthday, vacation, or even a wedding into a vision board event.

Why Make a Summer Vision Board?

If you made a vision board in January, we’re halfway through its life cycle—summer is the perfect moment to check in. This is your gentle nudge to pull it out, really look at it, and ask:

  • What have I already manifested? (Celebrate that!)
  • What still lights me up?
  • What feels stale, outdated, or “not me” anymore?

You can refresh your board by adding new images, covering parts that no longer fit, or pasting new intentions over old ones. Digital or traditional, your vision board is a living document, it’s allowed to evolve.

And if you didn’t make one yet this year? It’s not too late! Summer is its own season of becoming. You can create a standalone 90-day vision board for June thru August, or even align with the solstice and equinox: June 20 thru September 22.

Summer boards can be goal-oriented, yes—but they can also be dreamy and relaxing. Maybe your summer board is just about rest. Or joy. Or your favorite parts of the season. Let it reflect where you are right now.

My Summer Vision Board Story

The summer before I returned to art school, I made my first real vision board. Back then, vision boards weren’t as popular as they are now and certainly not something people made for the new year. But summer, right before a fresh school year, felt like the perfect time.

I remember using a black-and-white photo booth strip of myself and collaging six arms onto my body like a Hindu goddess. In each hand I placed something that felt essential to me: a paintbrush, a pen, a musical instrument, a cooking utensil… I can’t remember the rest, but I do remember the feeling.

That collage said everything I needed to know. It helped me see that I wasn’t scattered. That I was multifaceted and all these parts of myself connected to a whole person. That board didn’t just help me dream; it helped me understand the dreamer.

That’s when I realized: vision boards aren’t only about manifesting outcomes. They can also reveal deep personal insights. This goes a longway past the typical New Year vision board goal making quest.

What to Include on a Summer Vision Board

Your summer board doesn’t have to be a checklist of goals—it can be a mood board, a soul whisper, or a fun summer collage. The images can be both magical, vacation-inspired or playful. These are images from the summer vision board clip art printable I made for the season.

Summer vision board symbols

Here are some beautiful directions you might explore:

Visual Themes:

  • Beaches, travel, bonfires
  • Summer flowers, gardens, greenery
  • Sunrises and sunsets
  • Lazy days, hammocks, picnics, swimsuits
  • Weddings, romance, friendship, connection

Symbols:

  • Suns, moons, dragonflies, butterflies, ladybugs
  • Waves, waterfalls, mermaids
  • Fireworks, fruit, ice cream, bicycles
  • Fairies, stars, sandcastles

Affirmations:

  • I shine like the summer sun, radiating clarity, warmth, and purpose.
  • I welcome ease, joy, and miracles into my life like waves washing over the shore.
  • This season supports my creativity, and I trust the timing of my blossoming.
  • I am deeply nourished by nature, rest, and beauty all around me.
  • I move through summer with rhythm and lightness, aligned with my highest self.

This is also a perfect time to make an artistic vision board—where the mood or symbols are more important than specific outcomes. If you love the beach, make a beach altar board. If you’re a sunset girl, let the sky tell your story. These become not only intention pieces but soul-nourishing artwork to hang in your space.

Make It a Summer Event

Summer vision board party

Vision boards are even better when shared. Summer is the perfect season to gather a few friends or family members and host a vision board party. Set up a big table with scissors, glue sticks, and old magazines, pour some lemonade (or rosé), and spend a few dreamy hours visioning together.

Here are some fun ways to make it a seasonal tradition:

  • Summer Birthday Vision Board Party
Whether it’s your birthday or a friend’s, invite guests to make a vision board for their next personal year. It’s a beautiful way to reflect on what you’ve learned and set playful intentions for the year ahead.
  • Wedding Vision Board Gathering
For brides, couples, or even bridesmaids, a vision board party can be a creative way to capture the feeling and future of your new chapter. Think beyond the Pinterest boards—this is about visioning your shared life, values, travel dreams, home energy, and more.
  • Vacation-Themed Boards
Headed to the lake or the beach? Make a vision board inspired by your ideal summer getaway. It could include images of rest, reconnection, nature, and joy. Hang it where you’ll see it all season long—or even take it with you on your trip as a visual moodboard.

Vision Boards with a Seasonal Twist

Unlike the pressure of new year resolutions, summer vision boards feel lighter, more exploratory. You’re not locked into anything. You’re playing. Trying things on. And that’s where real magic often begins—not with a goal, but with a feeling.

Let this summer be your invitation to imagine again. You don’t have to wait until January. Your new season can start right now—with a blank board, a pair of scissors, and the willingness to discover what’s calling to you next.
